For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16

Historically, the life of Jesus Christ can be verified. That is, there was a man named Jesus Christ who walked the earth thousands of years ago.
The big question...the *BIG* question becomes:
Did he actually die on the cross for my sins? Was he raised from the dead? And, how does this impact me now?

After an appraisal of recent scholarship on the historicity of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, Professor William Craig contends that
"the resurrection appearances, the empty tomb, and the origin of the Christian faith - all point unavoidably to one conclusion: the
resurrection of Jesus".

You are skilled with google. You can google for the proofs of Christ's life, death, and ascension to heaven. I won't belabour the point
here; look at the lives of the disciples during Christ's trial, after Christ's trial, a week after Christ's death, 3 months after Christ's
death. The answers are there. They are historically relevant.

THE PROBLEM
Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Me, you, everyone. Not one of us can earn our way into heaven.

THE SOLUTION
Romans 5:8 "But God demonstrates his own love for us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
Jesus died for you. Jesus died so that He could take your punishment for you - the punishment that was due to you.
Christ died to pay that debt.

THE ACTION
You must admit that you are a sinner
You must acknowledge that you accept Christ's gift and wish to follow his way

A small sample prayer
God, I know that I have sinned against you and deserve punishment. But Jesus Christ took the punishment that I deserve so that through
faith in Him I could be forgiven. I turn away from my sin and place my trust in You for salvation. Thank You for Your wonderful grace
and forgiveness - the gift of eternal life. In Jesus' name, Amen.
